ROSALY ACOSTA
Rosaly Acosta is a Houston-based Dominican cinematographer, visual artist, creator, and activist with more than 15 years of experience in the film industry. In 2015, she won recognition at the La Silla Awards granted by the Dominican Association of Film Industry Professionals (ADOCINE) as Best Editor for the film La Gunguna, presented at multiple international festivals. In addition, he has been part of the most prestigious video and film production companies in the Dominican Republic, working as an editor on highly successful productions in his native country, such as Azul Magia (2017), Los Fabulosos ma´ mejores (2015) and Misión Estrella (2017), with which he built a solid career in short films, documentaries, television commercials, and series for television and other broadcast media in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Acosta is a founding member of the Colibrí Feminist Collective in Houston, producing and directing events in collaboration with WOW Gallery, such as Un Violador en Tu Camino performance for Women's March Houston, or Requiem in collaboration with the Collective of Puerto Rican Groups of Houston (CPRH). She is the director and founder of OSM Houston Workshops, an online educational platform that works with Hispanic and Latino artists with professional experience in film, graphic design, digital painting, writers and artists in general. Additionally, she is co-founder of audiovisual production company OneSample Media, which offers her the freedom to transform the ideas of other artists into something tangible and great.
